The Town Building Department is responsible for issuing building permits and certificates of occupancy, and for enforcing the Town of Stuyvesant’s zoning and land use laws.

Our primary responsibility is to assist people in the Town of Stuyvesant in complying with the Land Use Law as it pertains to zoning and the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. Both of these laws are complex and frequently confusing.
