The 2023 Recycling Permits are now available in the Town Clerk's Office. For Residents of Columbia County, the cost is $50.00. For Senior Residents the cost is $35.00 and for non-Residents the cost is $100.00. Please note that if you purchase from the Town Clerk's Office $5.00 from every fee stays in the Town.
The$3, and $5 tags are available in the Clerk's Office. $3 tags are for 10-30 gallon bags; and the $5 tags are for bags up to 55 gallons. They can be purchased individually or come in sheets of 5. The $1 tags may be purchased at Solid Waste Stations only.

Renew your dog's license online! You must have a current rabies certificate on file. Payment can be made either by credit/debit card or electronic check. Please note that convenience fees will apply.
In the left "Quick Links" box, click on "Renew My Dog License". You will be brought to an outside website. Please enter your dog's license number and your last name. Verify that all of yours and your dog's information is correct. Please allow one week for processing and your new license will be mailed to you.
Melissa Naegeli is the Town Clerk & Tax Collector. She was appointed in 2006 to the position of Deputy Clerk then, upon the resignation of then Clerk Lori Ennis, Melissa was appointed to the position of Clerk effective January 1, 2007. The Town Clerk & Tax Collector position is an elected, 4 year term of office.
The Office of the Town Clerk is open on Monday evenings 6-8pm, Tuesdays & Fridays 9:30-12:30, Thursdays 12:00 Noon - 3:00pm & Saturdays 10:00am - Noon. Appointments are available outside from normal business hours.

Dog Licensing Fees & Process:
The fee for an unneutered or unspayed dog is $15.00 ($3.00 goes to NYS) and the fee for a neutered or spayed dog is $8.00 (with $1.00 going to NYS). With a new license, the fee includes the tag. To get a dog licensed you must provide a copy of an up-to-date rabies certificate. The license is good for one year from the date of the issuance. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit (additional fee will apply).
Hunting Licenses:
There are various types of licenses issued through NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation – deer, turkey, fishing, etc. that may be purchased at the Town Clerk’s Office. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit (additional fee will apply).
Trash Bag Sales:
The prices for the trash bags are as follows:
- 7 gal bag: .50 each
- 15 gal bag: $2.00 each
- 30 gal bag: $3.00 each
- 40 gal bag: $4.00 each
- 55 gal bag: $5.00 each
The bags come in rolls of 5 but may be purchased in any quantity you would like. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card (additional fee will apply).
Recycling Permit Sales:
The prices for the Recycling Permits are as follows:
- Resident Permit $50.00
- Senior Resident Permit $35.00

There are two stickers per permit number. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card (additional fee will apply). Stickers should be placed on the lower right-hand corner of your vehicle's windshield.
Parking Permits:
Temporary and Permanent Parking Tags are available in the Town Clerk's Office with a form completed by a physician. Forms are also availalbe from the Town Clerk. Permanent Tags are renewed every 3 years and do not require another completed form. Expiration dates are noted on the tags.
